Become a Volunteer

We welcome volunteers of all ages from all around the world.

You may be looking for an intergenerational friendship because you no longer have grandparents of your own.

You may work for a company that offers volunteering as part of its social value programme.

You may be completing your Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Whatever brings you here, whoever you are, and wherever you are in the world, you are very welcome.

Volunteering with Adopt a Grandparent is simple .

All you need is a laptop, tablet or mobile phone, an email address, and 30 to 60 minutes a week to make a video call to your matched care home grandparent.

We carefully pair every volunteer and grandparent based on shared interests, hobbies, culture and language, helping create conversations that feel natural, personal and meaningful from the very start.

Please register with us below.

Building authentic, long-term friendships

At Adopt a Grandparent, we are not creating one-off interactions. We are helping build genuine, long-term friendships between volunteers and older people living in care homes.

Once you have registered, our team will contact you using the email address you provide to explain the next steps and support you through the matching process.
