Esher Manor Care Home Raises Funds for Adopt a Grandparent with Community Fashion Show
Adopt a Grandparent would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Esher Manor Care Home for choosing the charity as the beneficiary of its recent Fashion Show fundraising event.
Part of Avery Healthcare, Esher Manor selected Adopt a Grandparent because of the work we do to support care home residents across the UK through regular one-to-one video calls with carefully matched volunteers.
The event was organised with the support of Joanna Perry, Client Liaison Manager at Esher Manor Care Home, and brought together residents, team members, friends, family and members of the local community for an evening filled with fun, fashion and fundraising.
Local traders generously provided clothing for the event, with residents, care home team members, family members and friends taking to the catwalk as models for the evening. Guests also enjoyed a raffle, with all proceeds from ticket sales and raffle entries donated to Adopt a Grandparent.
The event was a wonderful example of a care home community coming together behind a cause that directly benefits older people.
David Annand, Head of Operations and Fundraising at Adopt a Grandparent, said:

"It was a fantastic evening and a brilliant example of what can be achieved when a care home gets behind a cause that means something to its residents and wider community. The funds raised will help us continue creating one-to-one friendships between care home residents and volunteers, helping older people feel heard, valued and remembered."
What makes support from care homes so special is that they can see the impact of their fundraising first hand. Every pound raised helps us continue providing companionship to older people living in care homes through our free programme.
Care homes across the UK already do an incredible job supporting residents every day. Fundraising events such as this help build on that support, enabling more older people to benefit from regular companionship and the reassurance of a familiar face and conversation each week.
