Adopt a Grandparent is a UK registered charity tackling loneliness among older adults. We pair care home residents with volunteers of all ages, connecting them for regular, one-to-one, safe and secure video calls that bring joy, conversation and companionship.

More than 400 care homes across the UK registered for our support during 2025.
We were delighted to win the prestigious Intergenerational Activity Award at the 2025 National Dementia Care Awards, in recognition of our ground-breaking work to tackle loneliness and support the wellbeing of people living with dementia.
Thanks to the dedication of participating care homes, our volunteers, our sponsors and supporters, we were able to provide consistent companionship and a renewed sense of connection to so many.
We want every older adult to feel heard, valued and connected, and with your support, we’ll be able to reach more people than ever in future.
