Celebrating an Outstanding Achievement at The White House Nursing Home
Our Head of Operations and Fundraising, David Annand, was delighted to attend The White House Nursing Home's Outstanding Garden Party Celebration, held to mark the home's recent 'Outstanding' rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The event brought together residents, families, supporters, team members and friends of the home to celebrate a truly impressive achievement. Although the weather meant the garden party had to move indoors, the atmosphere was no less warm, with everyone coming together to recognise the dedication and commitment that helped secure this prestigious rating.
During the celebration, David had the opportunity to meet Councillor Thay Thayalan, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, who attended the event and congratulated The White House Nursing Home on the exceptional care it provides within the local community.
At Adopt a Grandparent, we were honoured to be invited to join the celebrations as one of the external organisations that supports residents at the home. Through our companionship programme, some residents at The White House enjoy regular one-to-one video calls with carefully matched volunteers, providing additional opportunities for conversation, friendship and connection.
Achieving an 'Outstanding' rating is no small feat. It reflects excellence across many aspects of care, leadership, culture and resident experience. While Adopt a Grandparent plays a small part in supporting some residents through companionship, this achievement belongs to the dedicated team at The White House Nursing Home, whose commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred care has rightly been recognised.
The event was also a reminder of the value of partnership working within social care. When care homes, families, volunteers and community organisations work together, residents benefit from a wider circle of support and opportunities to stay connected with the people and things that matter to them.
We would like to congratulate everyone at The White House Nursing Home on this fantastic achievement and thank them for inviting us to be part of such a special occasion.
